A research platform for UK employment law

The Ailane Knowledge Library is a UK employment law research platform. It contains every major piece of employment legislation — mapped provision by provision — alongside leading case law, authoritative guidance from ACAS, HSE, ICO, EHRC, and HMRC, and real-time legislative change tracking.

At its centre is Eileen, your AI employment law guide. She doesn't just search the library — she understands it. Ask her any question about UK employment law in plain English, and she assembles a structured answer with statutory references, case law context, and practical implications. Every answer traces back to its source on legislation.gov.uk.

Meet Eileen

A five-step approach to every question

Eileen follows a consistent, auditable method so every answer is traceable, explainable, and grounded in statute.

1

Acknowledge

She confirms she understands what you're asking.
"Let's look at your SSP obligations under the new rules."
2

Contextualise

She places your question in its legal framework.
"Under the Employment Rights Act 2025, SSP was reformed effective 6 April 2026."
3

Educate

She explains what the law requires.
"The three-day waiting period has been abolished. SSP is now payable from the first qualifying day of incapacity."
4

Connect

She explains what this means for you.
"For employers in facilities management with high sickness absence rates, this change will increase SSP costs from day one of every absence."
5

Invite

She offers to go deeper.
"I can show you the full provision in the Knowledge Library, or we can look at how this affects your specific contracts."

Eileen will always

  • Trace every answer to its statutory source (legislation.gov.uk reference)
  • Identify the specific provision that applies (e.g., ERA 2025 s.21)
  • Explain in plain English what the obligation means for employers
  • Reference relevant case law where it exists
  • Signpost professional legal advice for situation-specific questions

Eileen will never

  • Give legal advice — she provides regulatory intelligence to inform your decisions
  • Tell you "you are compliant" or "you are not compliant"
  • Promise outcomes — she provides intelligence, not guarantees
  • Make up answers — if something isn't in her library, she'll say so honestly
Constitutional governance. Every Eileen response is governed by three founding constitutions (ACEI v1.0, RRI v1.0, CCI v1.0) and the intelligence/advice boundary defined in PLUGIN-001 Art. XIV. The constitutional framework is ratified, version-controlled, and auditable.

How the Knowledge Library earns its keep

Three real-world situations where a focused session with Eileen turns hours of legwork into a clear position.

Scenario 01 · Quick Session £49

"What do the new SSP rules mean for us?"

You're an HR manager at a facilities management company. You've heard the SSP rules changed in April but you're not sure exactly what. You buy a Quick Session (£49, 2 hours). Eileen walks you through every change — the waiting period removal, the lower earnings limit abolition, the day-one entitlement. She shows you the exact statutory provisions and explains what each one means for your payroll processes. You leave with a clear understanding of what needs to change and a chat transcript to share with your payroll team.

Scenario 02 · Day Pass £69

"Are our contracts still compliant after ERA 2025?"

You manage employment contracts for 200 employees across four sites. Some provisions of ERA 2025 are already in force, others are coming. You buy a Day Pass (£69, 24 hours). Over the course of the day, you work through each contract type with Eileen — checking whether your holiday pay calculations reflect current case law, whether your zero-hours contracts address the new obligations, whether your SSP policy is updated. You identify three contracts that need urgent revision and download a session briefing to take to your solicitor.

Scenario 03 · Research Week £129

"I need to brief the board on our compliance exposure."

You're an HR director preparing a quarterly compliance update. You take a Research Week (£129, 7 days). Over the week, you research each of the 12 ACEI exposure categories with Eileen, understand where your organisation sits, identify upcoming legislative changes that will affect your sector, and export a structured research summary that your board can act on.

Before you buy access

Is this legal advice?

No. Ailane provides regulatory intelligence — information about what the law requires, traced to its statutory source. It does not advise you on what to do about it. For legal advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified employment solicitor. Eileen will always signpost this.

How is this different from just reading legislation.gov.uk?

legislation.gov.uk gives you the raw text of the law. The Ailane Knowledge Library gives you Eileen — who reads the raw text, understands how provisions interact, maps case law to statutory requirements, and explains what it all means for employers in plain English. She's the difference between having a law library and having a guide who knows every book in it.

What if Eileen doesn't know the answer?

She'll tell you. Eileen is honest about the boundaries of her knowledge. If something isn't in the library, she'll say "That's not in the Ailane Knowledge Library" and point you to where you might find it. She never makes up answers.

Can I use this for a tribunal case?

Eileen provides regulatory intelligence that can inform your understanding of the legal position. She does not provide evidence, expert opinions, or legal arguments for tribunal proceedings. For tribunal representation, you need a qualified employment solicitor or representative.

Is my data safe?

Ailane is registered with the ICO (Reg. No. 00013389720) and operates under UK GDPR. Your session data is processed for the duration of your access window and handled in accordance with our privacy policy. Per-session users do not need to create an account.

What happens when my access window expires?

Your session ends. Any transcripts, session briefings, or research exports you downloaded during your session are yours to keep. We recommend downloading everything you need before your access window closes.

Regulatory Intelligence — Not Legal Advice. Ailane provides regulatory intelligence to inform your compliance decisions. It does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for qualified legal counsel. For legal advice, consult a qualified employment solicitor.
